Overview
July was all about getting your publications to do more with less clicking around. We shipped Responsive Publish so pages reflow fluidly to any screen, the ability to copy links and widgets from one publication straight into another, a long-requested Fade transition, and some serious speed and stability work for big publications — plus a pile of paper-cut fixes your fingers will thank us for.
Fastr Workspace
Copy Links & Widgets Across Publications
You can now copy links and widgets from Publication A into Publication B with all their styling preserved — no more rebuilding the same setup twice.
Learn more in our Copy, Export, Import & Delete Links guide.
Fade Transitions (finally!)
“Fade” is now available as a board/scene transition animation, joining Slide. We also fixed a batch of quirks that showed up when Fade was combined with Move interactions.
Check out Interactions Overview to see what’s possible.
Undo on Mouse Leave
Setting up a hover effect used to mean building two separate interactions — one for mouse-enter, one for mouse-leave. Now you can just toggle “Undo on mouse leave” and let Fastr handle the reverse automatically.
Set Text, Fixed
The “Set Text” behavior now correctly handles line breaks in published experiences, so your multi-line copy updates land exactly as intended.
Product Grid Stays Fresh
Duplicating a component with a Product Grid now refreshes its SKU data instead of carrying over stale info.
Cleaner Copy-Paste
Pasting text from outside sources (we’re looking at you, Word and Google Docs) was occasionally causing crashes and dragging in invisible junk characters. We’ve hardened text handling so paste-and-edit just works.
Fastr Publications
Responsive Publish (Beta)
Publications can now reflow fluidly to fit any screen. Opt a page into responsive layout and its widgets, text, images, and grids resize and restack automatically — so a single design adapts from desktop to mobile without maintaining separate versions.
Big Publications, Big Speed-Up
We reworked how the Workspace canvas renders large publications, so scrolling, editing, and navigating hefty documents is noticeably smoother.
Page-Range Focus
Need several page boards visible at once instead of just one? Focus mode now supports a page range, which makes designing and reviewing multi-page spreads far less fiddly.
Overlays in Focus Mode
Overlay boards now stay visible and editable while you’re in a publication’s focus mode, so you can fine-tune overlays without popping in and out.
Fastr Frontend
Smoother Font Loading
We added an opt-in, shift-free font-loading strategy that reduces layout shift (CLS) when custom fonts load in published experiences — plus a per-tenant control to turn it on. Fewer jumpy page loads, happier visitors.
GEO Summaries Fixed
“Embed code with GEO” was falling back to a basic summary instead of the full AI-generated one. We’ve fixed the summarization service so GEO-enabled content gets the rich summary it’s supposed to.
More in GEO Enabled Content.
Fastr Optimize (EAP)
Heatmaps That Actually Populate
A materialized-view hiccup was leaving some heatmaps with zero rows after processing. Fixed — your click data now materializes as expected.
KPIs for Team Admins
Team admins running Custom Code experiments were hitting a 403 when loading KPIs. That permission gap is closed, so admins can see their experiment metrics again.
Analytics Cutover Controls
We added clearer admin controls around the analytics init.js cutover, including a control on the Analytics settings tab and better messaging when a team isn’t yet cleared to publish analytics.
