Overview
February was absolutely packed. We shipped 18 deployments this month (yes, eighteen), covering everything from a massive text editor bug-squashing spree to gradient fills, AI fixes, and Optimize portal authentication. Grab a coffee—there's a lot to cover.
Fastr Frontend
Fill Occlusion Fix
Foreground and background fills on published experiences were occasionally playing hide-and-seek with each other—layers overlapping when they shouldn't. We've fixed the rendering order so your published content displays exactly as designed.
Learn about layering in our Foreground + Background Layers guide.
Fastr Workspace
Text Editor: The Great Bug Purge
We went on a text-editing bug safari this month and came back with quite the collection:
- Masked text – Text inside masks was invisible on the canvas. Fixed—it now renders correctly.
- Double decorations – Underlines and strikethroughs were appearing twice. One is plenty, thanks.
- Font size "0" – The toolbar was sporadically showing "0" as the font size. It now consistently shows the actual value.
- Auto-width – Short text widgets weren't auto-sizing properly due to a minimum width constraint. Fixed for flex layouts.
- Paragraph merge crash – Deleting line breaks to merge paragraphs crashed the canvas. Now it just... merges paragraphs. Like it should.

GEO HTML Summary Generation
We've added the ability to generate HTML summaries for AI crawler visibility. This improves how your Fastr content is discovered and surfaced by AI-powered search engines. Think of it as SEO's cooler, AI-native cousin.

Gradient and Image Fills on Frames
Frames and boards now support gradient and image fills—not just solid colors. This is especially important for designs imported from Figma that use image-filled containers. Your imported layouts will now look the way they were intended.
Pinned Element Fixes
Resizing and rotating foreground/background (pinned) elements was unreliable at best. We've overhauled the interaction handling so pinned elements resize, rotate, and toggle visibility as expected.
Grouped Widget Controls
Selecting multiple widgets at once now properly shows size and position controls in the sidebar. Bulk layout adjustments just got a lot easier.
Board Duplication Order
Duplicating a board was placing the copy above the original instead of below. The new copy now appears in the expected position—no manual reordering needed.
Stroke Editing Fix
Adjusting stroke properties (width, color, opacity) was triggering a validation error. Stroke editing now works without any fuss.
Open in Edit Mode by Default
Experiences now open directly in edit mode instead of a read-only revision view. No more accidentally editing old revisions because you missed the edit-mode banner.
Fastr Icon Navigation
Clicking the Fastr logo while inside an experience now navigates back to the dashboard in the same tab instead of opening a new one. Small change, big quality-of-life improvement.
AI Alt Text: Back Online
Our AI-generated alt text feature was failing due to the previous OpenAI model returning errors. We've updated to a newer, more reliable model—and as a bonus, it's significantly more cost-efficient. Your images get alt text, we get a smaller bill. Everybody wins.

Interaction Sequence Fix
Interaction sequences were executing their children in reverse order. If you had a chain of actions (like "show overlay, then animate, then navigate"), they'd fire backwards. That's fixed now—actions execute in the order you define them.
Explore all interaction options in our Interactions Overview.
Model Compression
Large publications (390+ pages) were failing to publish because the data payload exceeded server limits. We've compressed the model data by 55-60%, so even your most ambitious publications can publish successfully.
Publishing tips in our How to Publish guide.
Fastr Publications
Page Flip Crash Fix
A recent update to the page flip integration was crashing the entire canvas for books and publications. We've added guardrails so page flip issues are contained and never take down your workspace.
Image Copy/Paste Fix
Images imported from Fastr Frontend into Workspace were triggering CORS errors when copy/pasted to a new experience. Imported images can now be freely copied and pasted without breaking anything.
Named Destination Links
Internal links within publications (named destinations and force-spread link mappings) now import and function correctly in both preview and published output.
Combine Publications UI Polish
Several UI improvements to the combine workflow: better scrolling, clearer image naming, improved replaced-page styling, and smarter desktop variant handling.
See our Combine PDFs guide for the full walkthrough.
Fastr Optimize (EAP)
Experiment Management
A/B testing capabilities continue to take shape with new experiment CRUD functionality—create, manage, and validate experiments directly in the platform. The foundation for self-service experimentation is being laid.
Input-Aware Heatmaps
Heatmaps in the Fastr Chrome Extension now recognize interactive input elements on your page. Click visualization is more accurate and accounts for form fields and interactive UI components.
Portal Authentication
Optimize portals now use JWT-based authentication, which means login works reliably even when third-party cookies are disabled. Access controls are properly enforced so only authorized users can access account-specific portals.
Chrome Extension Improvements
Multiple reliability fixes for the Chrome Extension, including auth flow fixes for non-admin team members, session recording improvements, and event timestamp formatting.
