Overview

Page Navigation gives readers a page selector that does two things:

Jump to any page — the reader types a page number and is taken straight to that page.
Track the current page — the selector always shows the page the reader is currently on , and it updates automatically as they flip through the publication. See it in action in this example publication — the selector sits in the top-right corner .

Before you begin: Page Navigation must be enabled on your account first. Contact support@getfastr.com

to have it added — this is a one-time setup step. Once it's enabled, you can add the navigation to any publication yourself using the steps below.

How to add Page Navigation to a publication

Open the publication that already has Page Navigation set up (the reference publication).
In the layers panel, expand the Book Foreground section under Foreground.
Select the Page Navigation group and copy it.
Open the publication you want to add navigation to and paste the Page Navigation group onto the canvas. You can place it anywhere on the canvas — position it wherever you'd like the page selector to appear.
Important: Make sure the pasted Page Navigation setup lives inside the Book Foreground section. It must sit within Book Foreground to work correctly.

You can position the pasted Page Navigation group anywhere on the canvas — as long as it stays inside Book Foreground:

Confirm the Data Provider integration

Select the Page Navigation setup.
Open the Data Providers panel and select the Data Provider.
Under Integration Configuration, confirm the Integration dropdown is set to Page Navigation.

Configure the page numbering

Under the Data Provider's inputs (Enter by hand), set the two values to match your publication:

sceneOffset (Page Offset) — the number of pages the counter advances each time the reader flips. Set this to how much you want the page number to change per flip.
startPage — the number the count begins from. Set this to 1, 2, 3, and so on, depending on which page you want counted as the first page.

Adjust both values to fit how your publication is paginated, then save.

Once the Page Navigation group is in the Book Foreground section, the Data Provider integration is set to Page Navigation, and your offset and start page are configured, readers will be able to jump to any page and watch the current page they're on update automatically as they flip.
