Installing the Fastr Optimize Tag – Fastr Community

Overview

Fastr Optimize surfaces where your site leaks revenue and powers the experiments that drive lift. It's delivered as two JavaScript tags, each installed site-wide:

Analytics tag — captures every visitor interaction across your site, giving you a complete picture of engagement and performance.
Experiments tag — runs A/B tests and personalization across your site without code changes.

Your CSM will send you the tag (or both) that matches your plan. This article walks through installing each one — follow only the section(s) for the tag(s) you received.

Before you start

You'll receive each tag from your account manager. Tags look like this:

Installing the Analytics tag

You can install the Analytics tag two ways. Pick whichever fits your stack — you only need to do one.

Method 1: Add the tag directly to your site's `<head>`

Paste the embed code in your <head>, just before the closing </head> tag, on every page of your site (or in your site template if you use a CMS or framework). Loading in <head> lets the tag run early in the page lifecycle and capture accurate timing, engagement, and navigation data across your entire domain.

Method 2: Install via Google Tag Manager

In Google Tag Manager, go to Tags → New.
Choose Custom HTML Tag.
Paste your tag into the HTML field.
Under Triggering, select All Pages so the tag fires site-wide.
Save and Publish your container.

Installing the Experiments tag

Paste the embed code in your <head>, just before the closing </head> tag, on every page of your site (or in your site template).

The Experiments tag must be installed directly in <head> rather than through Google Tag Manager. It needs to run before the page renders so it can swap content without a visible flicker — something GTM can't reliably guarantee.

Installing both tags

If your CSM sent you both, complete both sections above. Order doesn't matter, and both tags can live in <head> together.

Reply to the email thread from your CSM — support is already CC'd.
We'll validate everything is firing correctly and confirm you're good to go.
