Improve your Core Web Vitals, such as LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift)
- These are some of the most important metrics that determine a sites overall performance score, which can be improved by using Fastr Frontend's Enhanced Code to embed your Experiences "above the fold".
- Fastr Frontend uses a handful of techniques behind the scenes that are geared towards fast and true to size content rendering to minimize things like load times and content shifting in order to ensure a high performing site.
- Reduce the usage of iframes in your Fastr Frontend and non-Fastr Frontend content.
- From a developer stand point, reducing the use of iframes is hugely beneficial to improving site performance and is actually one of the main differences between our Legacy and Enhanced Code.
- We ourselves have removed the use of iframes to make Fastr Frontend content one of the best performing areas of our customers' websites.
Widgets
- Use the Text Widget rather than adding text as an Image. This will also enhance SEO.
- Use the Breakpoint Variants to create lighter versions for Mobile Device.
- Heavier media files might be better utilized on a Scene after the 1st Scene or on an Experience below the fold of the Webpage.
- Be tactile about heavy files, widgets and animations added per Scene. The more that are resident to the Scene, the heavier the Scene becomes.
Images and Videos
- Fastr Frontend and Creator Studio Images are Optimized on upload, and are displayed using modern image formats (avif and webp)
- Break up Images as much as possible. For example, use a series of smaller images vs. using one large image.
- Avoid having videos displayed in the initial window/viewport that shows when the page loads.
- Large file types typically used for video often take longer to load than other forms of content, and having them "below the fold" can give them a second or two to do just that.
- This is helpful for both Fastr Frontend and non-Fastr Frontend content on your site.
