The Image Library allows you to access all of your images within your account, making it simple to utilize assets across projects. With this new feature, you can directly drag and drop any image onto the canvas. Alternatively, you can also replace an existing image on the canvas with any asset from your library.
To find the Image Library from your experience canvas, simply navigate to the “Assets” option in the left-hand side menu bar. You'll now see the "Image Library", which will automatically display all images from your account:
Please note that if you have "Viewer" permissions, you won't see the Image Library tab.
Image Replacement: One of the most important features is the ability to replace an image on your canvas with another image from your asset library. When you replace an image, you will keep your animations, effects, alt text, and other image settings in place.
This can be done by first clicking on an image widget in the experience canvas. Next, you'll just click on any image from your library, and it will replace the image. This replacement will not work if you are selecting a group, or a mask. You will need to make sure you are clicking directly on an image widget. This can be seen here:
Please review the following important information about your image aspect ratio:
When an image is replaced , you'll notice that it will still have the aspect ratio from the original image, and it might look incorrect. This can be updated by going to the Design tab, where you can see how the image is being sized for the container.
From here, you can select any of these 3 options:
-
- Fill - This will keep the original aspect ratio, and your new image will fill the entire width and height.
- Container - This will keep the new images aspect ratio, and it will always display the entire image. When using this setting, it might display white space on the top or bottoms.
-
Cover - This will also keep the new images aspect ratio, but it will fully fill the container without any white space. The size of your container might cause some of this image to appear cropped.
You can see these 3 options here:
Efficient Organization: Sort your images effortlessly based on various criteria such as last used, name, and most used. This feature ensures that you can quickly locate the images you need for your projects. You can also utilize the "search assets" tab to type in the name of an image and filter your results further. Both of these options can be seen here:
External Image Hosting: You now have the ability to use images from external sources, like a Digital Asset Management platform (i.e. Cloudinary), or hosted on your own website. This option can be found just below the Image Library. Please note, this field will only appear if you are currently selecting an image on the experience canvas. To use this feature, you'll just want to enter the image URL in this field. Once a URL is entered, you'll instantly see your image widget update with the Externally Hosted Image.
