Creating a Countdown Timer

Overview

Countdown timer functionality can be used across your experiences to promote a sale or the go-live date for an exciting new product! By default, these timers will count down to the end of the current month when you import the component. Please follow the customization steps below for information on modifying the End Date of the timer.

Importing the Timer Template

Kindly follow the below steps to add a countdown timer to your account

1. Import the Timer Template from your dashboard, as shown here:
   
2. Open the file you would like to add a countdown timer to, or create a new experience from scratc
3. Click on the "Assets" tab, and then select the "Libraries" text:
   
4. In the pop-up window, look for "Countdown Timers", and select "Add"
5. Exit the window, and return to the "Assets" pane
6. Under the "Image Library" and local library, you will see your newly imported template.

Note: When using these Timers, we recommend dragging and dropping them onto an existing board

Customize the End Date for your Timer

1. By default, the Countdown Timer components will always count to the end of the month
2. To adjust this value, click on the component, and find the "Data Provider" in your Design tab:
   
   
3. Under the "Needs" section, you will find a field for "end":
   
   
4. The date must follow this format:
   
   2024-12-24T00:00:00-08:30
   

   This date and time are referencing UTC, so you may need to adjust for certain timezones.

   The first 3 values (2024-12-24) can be changed to select a specific date, and they follow this format: YYYY-MM-DD
   
   

   The final 2 values (08:30) can be changed to select a specific hour or minute, and they follow this format: HH:MM
   So, for example, consider the following:
   
   2025-09-17T00:00:00-15:45
This would result in 3:45 PM on September 17th, 2025 (UTC)
