The term "publish" simply means taking the content you have built-in Fastr and getting it live on your website. Note: our clients use a multitude of different eCommerce platforms, content management systems and website management tools, so if you have any questions on how this process might work in your specific website, then please feel free to reach out to support@getfastr.com for assistance.
If you are looking for information on how to schedule an experience, we have another article here: Fastr Frontend Dashboard: How to schedule an Experience
Publishing an Experience from the Fastr Dashboard
- Find the experience you want to publish and click on the three-dot menu. When this opens, you can select "Publish Experience (All Traffic)"
- A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm the action. Click "Confirm" to publish.
- Once the experience is published, you will see a "Live" label on it.
Please note: If encountering an error during the publishing process, ensure that a board has been added to the experience. It's essential to place all of your widgets on a board when creating an experience.
Embedding the Published Experience into a Website
-
Once your have a live experience in your content slot, you'll need to copy the embed code to your website. You only need to copy this code for the first time you publish an experience.
Click on the "Copy Code" option to copy a short bit of code to your clipboard. This is specific to the content slot you are currently publishing.
-
Paste the copied code into the body of a page within the backend of your website. I'm pasting this code into the body of a Shopify page. As mentioned earlier the process may vary slightly depending on your website management tool and where you want to place the experience on your website.
- Once you have pasted that code into your site it should immediately render.
Replacing a currently live experience
- When building content in Fastr, it is extremely easy to swap which experience is live. If you've already added the content slot code to your site, it is not necessary to copy the code again. Instead, you can just create a new experience in the same content slot, as shown here:
- Once you've created a new experience in the live content slot, you can swap the live experience by clicking the "Publish Experience (All Traffic)" button:
-
Once you finish publishing, you'll see the experiences have swapped locations, and the new experience is marked as "Live":
