Integrations let you add dynamic elements and properties to your experiences in Fastr Frontend. Whether the data lives in your backend e-commerce platform or in any other third-party system, our Sales Engineers set these integrations up for you in your account. From there, you can use that data in your experiences to make them more dynamic, smart, and data-informed.
Not sure whether your subscription includes integrations? Interested in using this functionality but not sure where to start? Reach out to your CSM or write to us at support@getfastr.com and we will take it from there.

Integrations
Our Sales Engineers collect your requirements along with the details needed for each integration, then work on your use case to enable those integrations in your account.
Integrations are added at the account level and can be accessed from your account by anyone with the necessary permissions.
There are 3 types of Integrations that can be added to your account:
-
Data Integrations: These integrations can be used inside any experience, because they make backend data available to experiences. This covers your product data and information from your e-commerce backend, personalization engine, A/B testing platform, UGC engine, ERP, and so on. Connect to your backend tech stack and make product data available for live pricing, product name, product description, blog content, personalization decisions, and more.
-
Custom Actions: These are predefined actions specific to your account. They tie into your site configuration — for example "Open Quickview", which takes a SKU. They are reusable actions, available in every experience.
-
Background Integrations: These integrations run on all of your experiences without any user interaction. Clicking on the canvas shows you every background integration available in that experience. They can be used to add analytics to all of your experiences, or to dynamically update the design in any experience.
We set the integrations up in your account and train your team members on how to use the data in your experiences.
Using Your Data in Experiences
Once our team has added the integration to your account, our Sales Engineers train you on using that data inside your experiences to make your content live, dynamic, and data-informed.
Connecting data to a widget is done entirely from the Frontend Visual Designer, while you or a teammate build the content alongside it.
Each integration is different in nature, but the steps for using its data in your experience stay the same. Here are the basic steps for adding live data to your widgets:
-
Data Integrations: These need to be added explicitly, each time you want to use one of the data integrations available in your account.
-
Choose the widget on the canvas that you want to supply with data.
-
In the design tab, click the + sign alongside Behaviors.
-
For a text widget you will see 4 options in the dropdown; these change slightly depending on the type of widget. Select Set text to connect the widget to data coming from the backend.
-
From the Source field, select any of the data points available to you. These are the fields returned by the integration.
For example: here we are replacing the text in the text widget with the product name coming from the integration. -
Add a placeholder.
*This step is optional
-
-
Custom Actions: These also need to be added explicitly, each time you want to use one of the custom actions available in your account.
-
Select the element you want to apply the custom action to, and click the Interact tab.
-
Click the plus button under Interactions.
-
Select onClick as the Trigger, then select Custom Actions in the Actions field.
-
Choose the custom action for your use case from the dropdown.
Some Custom Actions need a CSS selector, and our team will train you on this beforehand.
-
-
Background Integrations: Because these are enabled automatically in your experiences, you don’t need to add them explicitly.
To see all of your background integrations, click anywhere on the canvas in the Frontend Visual Designer.
