Within the Creator Studio Editor, you can now customize the information passed to Google Analytics for each event, or click. These events are particularly useful when trying to understand what a user clicked on. You can customize these to show any value that makes sense to you and your team. Some examples might include Product SKU, Product ID, Product Name, URL or Page Name (instead of the full URL), or maybe the Button name. This can be done for each experience and will pass custom information back to Google Analytics so you can see how your customers are interacting with your content.
First, make sure your Google Analytics Tracking ID or Measurement code has been added to Creator Studio. You can find instructions to add it here.
Next, go into your experience. You’ll notice on the right side there is a section called ‘Analytics’.
Click on a widget - you’ll notice that in the ‘Analytics’ menu, there is a field which can be customized. This is the information which will get passed to Google Analytics under the Event Stream. Add your custom label or name:
Go into Google Analytics Event Reporting. In there, you’ll notice the new events streaming under the Event Label category:
